I’m launching a minimalist journaling app to help you journal regularly and securely store and access your entries.

The full micromemo version has 8 prompts, unlimited entries, and the possibility to search and filter them (as well as export). The free has 4 and a limited number of entries. Both are end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) so nobody can read the entries, not even the admins.
In case you read my blog, during Feb 2026, you can get the full version of the app for free, forever. Just sign up regularly and email me the address you used to sign up to hi@mbelcevic.me. You will get the full version for free, no strings attached.
micromemo.me Journaling App Features
The app lets you easily journal from any device, and offers 8 prompts to support you.
You can later view all the entries chronologically, as well as filter per prompt type, dates, or search for any keyword.
You can have more than one entry per day, as well as edit (or delete) existing entries.
End-to-end encryption (E2EE) – only the user can read their entries.
The 8 Promts
Here are the prompts you can pick and choose:
1. Plus, Minus, Next
Reflect on what went well (+), what didn’t go as planned (-), and what you’ll focus on next. A simple framework for continuous improvement.
2. Stoic Evening Review
End your day like Marcus Aurelius. Examine what you did well, what you could improve, and what wisdom you gained.
3. Free form
No structure, no rules. Write whatever comes to mind and let your thoughts flow freely.
4. Gratitude diary
Focus on the good. List three things you’re grateful for today and why they matter to you.
5. Rose, Thorn, Bud
Celebrate a highlight (rose), acknowledge a challenge (thorn), and identify something you’re looking forward to (bud).
6. Energy Audit
Track what gives you energy and what drains it. Identify patterns to optimize your days.
7. Random prompt
Surprise yourself with a random framework. Great for breaking out of routine thinking.
8. 5-3-1
Five things that happened, three lessons learned, one thing you’re proud of. Quick but meaningful.
The Plans for the Future
I plan/want to gradually build more.
Add more frameworks, as well as (optional) features like conversational AI (e.g. you ask it to summarize previous year/month for you and how you felt; what’s the thing I’m grateful for most often?), AI-powered sense-making (pattern finding and summaries), journaling reminders, selective sharing capabilities, journaling streak, mood tracking etc.
I would love to hear from you! Please try it out and let me know your thoughts (and any wishes). If you sign up during February 2026, you’ll get a full version for free, forever, no strings attached. (Just send me the email address you used to sign up to hi@mbelcevic.me)
